LCBS GOLD BAND                   home

The LCBS Gold Band conductor, Ken Rogers, has taught in Southern Alberta for over 23 years, with experience in the elementary, middle school, high school programs. Ken has also taught low brass with the University Conservatory .  He serves as associate conductor of the Lethbridge Symphony, and performs regularly with the Lethbridge Big Band . He has taught low brass at Music Camrose and Music Camp in Red Deer.  Ken has also conducted the Northern Junior Honour Band in 2006 along with serving as adjudicator in numerous festival events.  He is conductor of the McKillop United Church Choir.

He is a member of the honorary music conductor's fraternity Phi Beta Mu,  and recipient of the 2002 Elkhorn Conductor of the Year from the Alberta Band Association.  Ken is a current Board member of the Alberta Band Association.

Ken's involvement with the LCBS began many years ago, when he served as a conductor for the Silver Band, for which he was a recognized with an Honourary Lifetime Membership in the Society.

The Gold Band was founded in 1987 under conductor emeritus Robert Cook.  Since that beginning, the band has performed all over Southern Alberta.  It is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations for its commitment to providing music learning and performance opportunities .
