KARLY LEWIS - Karly is proud mother of two, an active music director, educator, musician, and conference speaker in Alberta. She has been an educator for 26 years, working with the Lethbridge School Division and the Rocky View School Division. Currently, Karly is the band director of a successful program of 225 aspiring young musicians at Gilbert Paterson Middle School where she directs grades 6, 7 and 8 bands as well as a junior and senior jazz band.

Karly began playing French horn with the Lethbridge Community Band in 1990 and thanks her parents, Ken and Kathy Lewis, for the encouragement to follow her passion of music into her career and many performances in the Lethbridge community.

Karly currently performs horn with the Lethbridge Symphony, Lethbridge Community Band and the Bridge Brass Quintet. She serves on the Alberta Band Association Board of Directors, Women Band Director’s International Board of Directors, the Alberta Teacher’s Association Teacher Welfare Committee for the Lethbridge School Division, is on the Career and Technology Education Council for Alberta and is a proud member of Phi Beta Mus International Bandmasters Fraternity. 

TANYA ARNOLD - Tanya has been an integral member of the LCBS Gold Band for many years. You may have spotted her in our bassoon section, or seen her on the podium a time or two. Most recently, she lead the Gold Band in the 31st Annual Mayor's Christmas Concert, in 2024, as well this past April during her audition to become the Gold Band's full time director.

Retirement has given Tanya the gift of time to pursue many musical pursuits, when she's not on the podium, including playing in a guitar group, learning recorder, relearning clarinet, as well as playing her bassoon in our Gold Band. It’s all "for the love of music"...

It's always a pleasure working with the wonderful musicians in the Gold Band to prepare for our concerts.
